Collaborative Arts Theatre is set to present an all new version of Bad Dates, a one-woman comedy by Theresa Rebeck. The company originally staged Bad Dates in September 2006 as its first contemporary production. This all-new production starring Kim Watson Brooks and directed by Elise Wilkinson will take place March 14-31, 2012, at the Duke Energy Theatre in Spirit Square.

About the show: "Armed with a sharp wit and a killer designer shoe collection, thirty-something single mom Haley Walker is diving back into the dating pool after a 12-year dry spell. Audience members are invited to join her in an intimate setting as she navigates hilarious and touching encounters with her suitors... and with the Romanian mob."

“Bad Dates turned out to be one of our most popular and talked about comedies,” said Elise Wilkinson, Collaborative Arts Theatre’s Executive and Artistic Director. “The original production had very limited seating and our audience has grown tremendously in the past 6 years. We have a great opportunity to re-stage the show and allow more people to enjoy this delightful comedy. While the performance venue is bigger, audiences can still look forward to the trademark intimacy we bring to all of our shows.”

Wilkinson reprises her role as director, but adds an "entirely new spin" to the show with award-winning actress Kim Watson Brooks in the lead role. “Kim is an extremely talented actress who will bring a fresh perspective and energy to the role of Haley. Audiences will fall in love with her vibrant spirit and personality while being touched by the honesty and vulnerability she brings to the stage.”
